StudiFoca 1.0 Now Available for iPhone and iPad
A coursework planner from a solo developer with ADHD, built around seeing a term’s workload before it lands on you
TUCSON, Ariz. — 27 AUG 2026 — Quixotic Raindrop Software, LLC has released StudiFoca 1.0, a coursework planner for iPhone and iPad aimed at students who have found that ordinary planners assume a kind of attention they cannot reliably produce.
Most student planners answer the question what is due. StudiFoca is built around a different one: which week is going to be the hard one, and can I see it coming. Assignments break into steps that land on individual days. A workload heat map shows Week, Month, and Full Term views of where effort concentrates. Due dates can be imported from a school’s calendar feed rather than typed in one at a time.
The app comes out of thirty years of self-taught development and eight years in emergency medical services — in that order.
“I was building this app long before I knew I needed it,” said Bacil Donovan Warren, StudiFoca’s developer. “As a paramedic I wrote myself little calculators for IV drip rates and oxygen tank duration — arithmetic I could do fine at a desk and could not reliably do at three in the morning with someone’s family standing in the room. I didn’t have a name for why yet. StudiFoca is the same instinct pointed at a syllabus.”
“Most planners are built on the assumption that the problem is not knowing what’s due,” Warren said. “That was never my problem. I knew exactly what was due. What I couldn’t see was which week was going to flatten me, until I was already in it.”
StudiFoca 1.0 includes
- Assignment steps. Break a large assignment into steps, and put those steps on your agenda so each one lands on its own day alongside that day’s classes.
- Workload heat map. Week, Month, and Full Term views showing where effort concentrates across a term.
- Calendar import. Bring a term’s due dates in from a school’s calendar feed (
.ics) instead of entering them by hand. - One-way calendar and reminder export. StudiFoca can add due dates to Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders. It does not read from them.
- A Home Screen widget showing what is due today.
- Course grade tracking, alongside terms, courses, assignments, and assessments.
Privacy
StudiFoca has no account and no sign-up. It collects no data, and there is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, and no server of ours to send anything to. Coursework data lives on the device.
Availability and pricing
StudiFoca 1.0 is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, running iOS 18.5 or later. English only. A macOS version is planned.
The app is free to download. The free tier includes one term and two courses, with every feature enabled. A one-time $9.99 unlock raises those limits. There is no subscription.

About the developer
Bacil Donovan Warren has been writing software since 1994, beginning in his senior year of college and continuing through work as a school and district network technician and as a contract QA engineer testing enterprise storage systems. He learned iOS development during the years he worked as an EMT and paramedic, from 2006 to 2014. He was diagnosed with ADHD in 2017. StudiFoca began development on 27 AUG 2025.
