A Term is the outer container in StudiFoca \u2014 a semester, quarter, or session \u2014 and everything else lives inside one. This page covers everything the Getting Started<\/a> walkthrough doesn’t: the full set of term fields, what the detail view shows once courses are added, editing a term, and where the other actions on the “\u2026” menu lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Terms tab, empty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before you’ve added anything, the Terms tab just says so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding a term<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tap +<\/strong> to open Add Academic Term<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The form defaults to today’s date for both the term start and end date, a two-and-a-half-week span you’ll always want to change, session length Semester<\/strong>, and no finals period yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fill in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Title<\/strong> \u2014 e.g. “Fall 2026.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Session length<\/strong> \u2014 Semester and so on; this doesn’t change the fields below it, it’s descriptive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Detailed information (optional)<\/strong> \u2014 anything you want to note about the term itself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Term start and end dates<\/strong> \u2014 when classes run.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Has finals period<\/strong> \u2014 switch this on if your school has a separate exam block, then set Finals Start Date<\/strong> and Finals End Date<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. School Year<\/strong> fills itself in from the term dates.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The term detail view<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Tapping into a term shows its date ranges at the top and bottom, a Courses<\/strong> section in the middle, and a Finals and other high-stakes assessments<\/strong> section below the divider line. Before you’ve added a course, both are empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Once you’ve added courses, they list here by title, code, and meeting times, and any finals or other high-stakes assessments you’ve flagged appear below the divider, sorted by due date with a running “due in N days.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Editing a term<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Edit Term<\/strong> opens a short sheet: Term Name<\/strong> and optional Details<\/strong>. It doesn’t let you change the term’s dates \u2014 those are set once, at creation, since courses and their meeting schedules are built against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
